Low-cost midlife crisis

The second night in a row with no actual bed. I suspect this is only doable (at this age anyway) with the knowledge that once we get to our destination I can go to bed. We don’t have to wander around an unknown city for 7 or 8 hours before we can check in somewhere. This morning I got to enjoy the early morning light over my favourite stretch of railway in Romania, along the Mures valley

And here we are… Just under 4 weeks since we left on the evening of August 1st. And the stats from the app (though my other half has apparently done 13,000 km on exactly the same trip as me, which is slightly baffling)

It’s actually been a fantastic trip, despite the occasional hassles. Can honestly say I’d do it again. Not tomorrow though.
